Teachable Tuesday {Common Mistakes Found on Invitations}

Tuesday, January 9, 2018

As a stationery designer clients rely on us to know the rules of etiquette and grammar.   They look to us to be the experts to know how to use their words and our designs to tell their love stories.

Often times designers get it right, but sometimes they miss the mark.

Here are a few tips that you should pay close attention to when designing your stationery.

•  Zip codes should never be displayed on the invitation

•  Vowel Renewal should be...Vow Renewal

•  Do not write "and" within the year, it should be.... Two thousand eighteen

•  Also include the ceremony address ceremony and/or reception location

•  Time should be spelled out.

•  Time, on the hour, should be followed by “o’clock”

•  Do not use “o’clock” if the time is not on the hour "half past"

•  Time should always be followed by "in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evening"
12:00 a.m. - 11:59 a.m. {is morning}
12:00 p.m. - 5:59 p.m. {is afternoon}
6:00 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. {is evening}

•  Honor vs Honor { traditionally honour is used for religious ceremonies}

I hope this was helpful.  Please subscribe, so that you can be one of the first to know when I post again as well as my upcoming offerings.

Just in time for the holidays. This is one craft that the entire family will enjoy!! I spend hours over the past few weeks relaxing while making these.  With the hustle and bustle of life sometimes just playing with glitter and paint is just what you need.  And no!!! I did not sit there and watch the paint dry {UMMM NO!}}

I have created a video to show how I make glitter and painted ornaments. Please check it out. I also have other videos that you may enjoy.

iLove making pretty things and I love creating a space that perfect just for me!

While in the kitchen {on a Instagram Live} I got totally inspired while making my mama’s homemade vegetable soup

It’s so true, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Here’s what I made from a can of tomato sauce and tomato paste.

I used:
spray paint,
crystal knob,
wash tape,
a smooth-edge can opener from pampered chef.

This is my new place to hold my bind clips as well as my jump drives.
